Important Security Update from TIB

April 11, 2014  2:58 PM CDT

On April 7, 2014, security researchers announced they had uncovered a vulnerability in the widely used OpenSSL software, now referred to as “Heartbleed Bug”.  An indicator that a site is protected by this software is the signature "padlock" icon displayed in the browser. This flaw may allow an attacker to retrieve information cached in the server’s memory, and/or may allow capture of the server’s private security key, enabling the attacker to impersonate (“spoof”) the affected web site.

TIB Network Security has reviewed our customer facing systems and have found no vulnerability to "Heartbleed".  This includes TransCom, Gateway and our Investment Portal.

HOWEVER, please be aware that, while TIB's systems have passed all tests, there are numerous systems on the internet that your transactions may cross.  We encourage you to be diligent in speaking with your core processor and any other vendors you may use for financial transactions.

As always, TIB Network Security will continue monitoring this situation very closely.
